The Early Steps Provider help system contains two types of help topics: panel-level help topics and How Do I help topics. Panel-level help topics contain information about web pages found within the Louisiana Early Steps application. Each panel-level topic describes a specific web page and includes the following information:
the purpose of the page
the controls found on the page
the tasks that can be started from the page
The tasks listed for each web page include links to How Do I help topics. How Do I help topics contain instructions that walk you through individual tasks, step-by-step.
The Early Steps Provider help system is designed to support a screen area of 800x600 pixels, and a High Color (16 bit) color depth. We recommend you display the help system with a screen area of 800x600 or better, and a High Color (16 bit) color depth or better. Screen areas less than 800x600 pixels and color schemes of less depth than High Color (16 bit) are not supported by the help system; therefore, displaying the help system in a screen area of 640x480 pixels or less, or at a color depth of 256 colors or worse is not recommended. For more information on how to change your computer's screen resolution and color depth, refer to your operating system's help files.
Panel-level and How Do I help topics display in this panel of the help system web page. Within the application, the help system is displayed by clicking Help on the Early Steps Provider application menu bar, just as you did to display this help system overview.
Specific help topics can be accessed through help system's table of contents, index, search function, or How Do I list. For your convenience, the help system also includes a glossary of terms, containing definitions of the terms most commonly used within the application and this help file. For more information on navigating the help system, refer the Navigating Help section below.
Within the help system, navigation buttons are displayed in the panel along the top of this web page. The following list describes each of the navigation buttons:
Click the Contents button to access the help system's table of contents.
Click the Index button to access the help system's index.
Click the Glossary button to access the help system's glossary of terms.
Click the Search button to access the help system's search function.
Click the How Do I button display a list of all How Do I topics within the help system.
The contents, index, glossary, and search function are displayed in a pane on the left-hand side of the help system web page. The How Do I List is the only exception -- it is displayed in this pane on the right-hand side of the web page.
To navigate to a previously displayed help topic click the web browser's Back button. For more information on navigating web pages, refer to your web browser's help file.
To print the currently displayed help topic, click the web browser's Print button. For more information on printing web pages, refer to your browser's help file.
